Weekly Bulletin

October 11, 2020

Welcome back in the name of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. If you are visiting, we are glad that you are here and kindly ask that you sign our guest book at the sanctuary doors. If you would like to become a member please speak to the Pastor. In case of illness, the Pastor should be informed. He will always be glad to speak with those who are confronted with problems of a spiritual nature. The time before worship is a quiet time for prayer and meditation to prepare for worship. Please see the inside cover of the hymnal for prayers and page 329f to prepare for Holy Communion. Communicant members are asked to sign the communion book at the entrance of the church.

COVID 19 WORSHIP:   Welcome home everyone!  While we are here to rejoice in God’s house, we  still have to follow the rules for practicing social distancing, wearing a mask and santitizing hands on your way in and out of church.  If you are wearing gloves, please dispose of them at home.  Please take your masks home as well as your bulletins to limit exposure and the amount of Garbage and recycle for the church.  We have masks for you to take home in case you have not brought them. Please wash and bring every Sunday.  A detailed description of worship guidelines is on the small table with the bulletin and offering plates. We are required to wear a mask on entering the church but once seated; if seating is compliant; one may remove the mask in order to worship

Clothed in the Righteousness of Christ, We Partake of His Wedding Feast

By His cross and resurrection, the Lord has swallowed up death forever, and by His Gospel He “will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth” (Is. 25:8). Therefore, “let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation” (Is. 25:9). On the mountain of the Lord of hosts — in His Church on earth, as in the kingdom of heaven — He has made “for all peoples a feast of rich food, a feast of well-aged wine” (Is. 25:6). It is the royal “wedding feast” of the Son of God, “and everything is ready” (Matt. 22:1, 4). Thus, His servants are sent into the highways and byways to invite and gather as many as they find, “both good and bad,” to fill the wedding hall with guests (Matt. 22:8–10). In Holy Baptism, He clothes them all in the “wedding garment” of His own perfect righteousness (Matt. 22:11). Therefore, “do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God,” and “rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil. 4:4–6).

Collect of the Day

Almighty God, You invite us to trust in You for our salvation.  Deal with us not in the severity of Your judgment but by the greatness of Your mercy; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

LWML-CANADA SUNDAY MITE CHALLENGE 2020 - It has been several months of uncertainty with respect to meeting together as LWML societies. Due to the various restrictions on gatherings and procedures in our church, Mite Sunday will not be as we normally hold it. Instead below is a form/challenge which we can all take part in and continue to support our Mission Grants. I would ask all those who can, take part in this challenge. On October 18th, 2020 we will have a separate basket at the entrance next to our offering basket and I would ask that you place you challenge/mite donations in this basket. The Lord has blessed us, so let us show our appreciation by giving what we can to Mites on this LWML Sunday. A copy of the challenge is on the table with the bulletins. . Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Blessings, Diana
