Weekly Bulletin

Mar 20, 2022

Welcome back in the name of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. If you are visiting, we are glad that you are here and kindly ask that you sign our guest book at the sanctuary doors. If you would like to become a member please speak to the Pastor. In case of illness, the Pastor should be informed. He will always be glad to speak with those who are confronted with problems of a spiritual nature. The time before worship is a quiet time for prayer and meditation to prepare for worship. Please see the inside cover of the hymnal for prayers and page 329f to prepare for Holy Communion. Communicant members are asked to sign the communion book at the entrance of the church.

Jesus Calls You to Repentance

“Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:3, 5). By this warning, the Lord would turn us away from wickedness and bring us to life in Himself. For He is patient with us, that we not be cut down in our sin but live and bear fruit in Him. As He lives, the Lord has “no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live” (Ezek. 33:11). So the Scriptures have been “written down for our instruction, on whom the end of the ages has come” (1 Cor. 10:11), that we should not desire evil but trust in Christ. He alone is faithful, the Rock who feeds us with His “spiritual food” and pours out His “spiritual drink” (1 Cor. 10:3–4).

NEW COVID 19 PROTOCOL FOR WORSHIP

While we are here to rejoice in God’s house, we still have to follow the Ontario government rule for masking (https://www.ontario.ca/laws/regulation/200364#BK10) as of March 1, 2022.  Pertinent exceptions to masking are:  1.  a child who is younger than two years of age; 2. a medical condition that inhibits their ability to wear a mask or face covering; 3. is unable to put on or remove their mask or face covering without the assistance of another person; 4.  needs to temporarily remove their mask or face covering while in the indoor area;  and 5. in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.   Please use the hand sanitizer after entering and upon leaving.

Collect of the day:

O God, whose glory it is always to have mercy, be gracious to all who have gone astray from Your ways and bring them again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and hold fast the unchangeable truth of Your Word; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
